Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital(SRRSH) has actively engaged with international healthcare institutions by means of cooperation and exchange programs since its beginning. Through its long term association with Loma Linda University and other institutions, SRRSH has been able to maintain an advanced western-style practice, and to keep up-to-date in both information and technology. These close associations have created a unique hospital culture, characterized by good hospital management, high quality care, and an emphasis upon continuing medical education. In December, 2006, SRRSH was accredited by the Joint Commission International, as the first public hospital in China to be so recognized by the international accreditation body. This is the result of many years of international cooperation and the contribution of numerous foreign consultants.
