Ultrasound is a diagnostic imaging tool which aids in the visualization of soft tissue organs by utilizing high frequency sound waves which avoid the potential danger of radiation. Ultrasound lends itself well to the diagnosis of diseases of the liver, gallbladder, breast, kidney and pelvic organs. One of the most useful and rewarding areas is the routine use to determine fetal growth and development, a study which is free of radiation hazards.
Fourteen health care professionals currently comprise this department and they are actively engaged in teaching and research for Zhejian University College of Medicine. They have contributed to multiple international and domestic professional publications with some of their research.
