This department is unique in the high volume of the endoscopic and minimally-invasive procedures performed yearly in this hospital. Early in the history of SRRSH, Loma Linda University (USA) helped establish an endoscopic center for the training of surgeons in endoscopic and minimally-invasive surgery that has become a pace setter in this community.
The staff has built upon this early foundation to develop innovative procedures for hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal disorders. They continue to be involved in active research and education, working toward improving abdominal and vascular techniques, along with meeting the challenges of post-operative care .
